What’s your favorite social networking site?

There are a lot of choices out there.  Personally, I started on Slashdot years ago.  That was the place to get tech news and humor.  I rarely check out Slashdot now.  Since Slashdot, I have spent some time on digg, myspace, and facebook.  I watch the occasional video on YouTube.  Recently, since I am all grown up now, I use LinkedIn.:)

In the past couple of years that has been an explosion of social news, media, and networking sites.  This is great in my opinion.  The more variety the better.  The idea that there is something for everybody has never been more true.  Chances are there are people out there like you and you will find them on any of the sites.  So… what’s your favorite social networking site?

    A2, top rated web hosting

I have had no problems with A2 hosting.  I have been with them for more than two years now.  I had a few hosting providers over the years.  I would say A2 is the best by far.  I get PHP, Mysql, and SSH accounts in my package.  I am on a shared host but I can easily switch to  a dedicated server if needed.  I never had an issue with up time and receive notifications of system maintenance ahead of time.  Overall you get top notch service from this top rated web hosting company.

If you aren’t happy with your current web hosting provider, you may want to switch to A2 hosting.  If you would like to know more about my experiences with A2 please let me know.  I don’t mind the questions at all.  I am completely biased but A2 hosting is a top rated web hosting company and worth a second look if you are unhappy about current hosting provider.

    Vacation Rentals versus a Timeshare

Over the past few years I found myself going back to Virginia Beach.  I really like it there.  I have paid a significant amount to vacation on the beach.  That got me thinking.  Why don’t I rent a house for a week.  Well, that didn’t work to well for me.  I started looking in May and no mas.  So this year, I went to VA Beach and rented a hotel room… again.

Next year it will be different.  I actually sat through a time share presentation and purchased a unit.  The biggest factor in my decision was the flexibility in what I purchased.  I am not locked in coming to the beach the same week every year.  Truth be told, I actually made a great deal.

The last time share in Virginia Beach is being made right now.  I was getting the sales pitch for this.  Instead of getting a unit in this developement.   I purchased an existing unit for a fraction of the price for a unit in the new development.  I probably made the best deal of the day.

So the next time you are thinking about a staying in a hotel or vacation rentals, you may want to think about a timeshare.  I am just an average person, and if I can do it so can you.  If you are thinking about purchasing a timeshare and have a question feel free to contact me.  I am willing to help if I can.

Maybe you should think about a timeshare

    Pdanet, another Android Tethering Program

I recently picked up a MacBook Pro.  The problem was that EasyTether doesn’t run on OS X.  Dilemma dilemma… so I had to do some homework.  After a bit of searching I found Pdanet.  There was a versions for Blackberries and iPhones in addition to Android.  My installation took longer than five minutes.  That is only because I installed the iPhone version.  Yes, an epic fail on my part.  Pdanet, another success program that allows Android tethering.

    Want more?

Check out my story about how I setup EasyTether in less than five minutes.
