Does AdSense ads take your link juice?

I saw a very interesting set of comments on Reddit.  The whole thread is here.  The following part captured my attention.

Linking to other websites (where relevant) in your niche won’t have a negative effect, and may in fact have a positive one. However, Google’s guidelines say you should nofollow any advertisements. I go one step further with my method and completely block Google from “seeing” the links.

    Leaking faucet

I understand what the person is trying to accomplish but I wonder if this effort is futile.  If you are using AdSense I definitely think this useless.  Since link juice applies to Google search, I think you can skip this advice if you are just using AdSense.  I am pretty sure Google knows it’s ads and will not give away link juice to them.  If you are running multiple ads on your blog, this maybe something to think about.

Hubpages Widget 1.0.0 for WordPress is released

I use Hubpages, and I use WordPress.  I wanted a way to integrate the two.  I searched for a plugin and didn’t find one, so I made my own.  Its very simple to use.  The installation instructions are here.  You can see the plugin on this page.  It will be on the right towards the bottom of this page.

A ‘Data Furnace’ could heat your home in the future

I found this article interesting.  A super computer in every home and to use the heat that dissipates from it to heat your home is very smart.  I wonder how many inventors are thinking of multipurpose appliances when creating products.  The smart manufactures should try to differentiate themselves from competition this way.

Now I am curious to see if anything is ready.  I am in the market for a new furnace in a couple years.  I would love to try a prototype out.  Even if its on a small scale and could supplement your heating needs.  I think it would be worth checking out.  The source of my excitement for this topic came from Gizmag.  The original article is here.

A couple of milestones coming up

On Twitter I will have 500 followers soon.  Its been fun getting to this point.  I am mainly gaining followers by talking to people.  There aren’t any gimmicks or tricks being used. I am just engaging people.  On HubPages, I am going to hit 1000 hub views soon.  I haven’t been contributing to HubPages like Ty, but its nice to reach this milestone.

I just hit 150 followers on Digg.  Digg is a major source of my news.  I am very happy that I was able to build a voice and a following on this site.

    rMonster 0.0.2 is released

I was able to make the toolbar a little easier to use on other sites.  I took all the config values and errors messages and placed them in a rMonster.ini file.  I have a bug I have to resolve as well.  Multiple clicks on the demo link on the Google Code project page will create an iframe in an iframe.  Thanks to Adam from dustypixels.com for pointing this out.  Look for another release soon.

    All releases are available here.
