Virtual Machines and Macs
At home and work I am a Mac guy. I do 95% of my work and leisure activity on a Mac. I have a personal and work issued Laptop. Ever now and again, I need to do something in Windows. So at work its easy, I use VMWare. Its a very reliable piece of software. I have a small problem when it comes to my home computer. You have to pay for the version of VMWare I use. It doesn’t cost that much, but $50 here and there for enterprise software adds up.
I still need to work on things in Windows and Linux sometimes. I did a little research and found VirtualBox. Its an open source virtualization tool that run on Mac.
I’ve setup a few VMs on my machine. I can run Damn Small Linux, TinyXP, and CentOS all on my Mac. Please see the picture below for details.
