Amazon versus Walmart – Which is better?

I came across this infograph.  I think this is a classic example of a 20th versus 21st century company.  Yes, they are competitors right now, but Walmart is not setup to compete in the online space.  The biggest reason why I say this is Walmart’s top selling item is a banana and Amazon’s top selling item is a Kindle.  A Kindle equals a whole lot of bananas.

Disgaea 4 Power Leveling – Mount Ordeal 3

    Disgaea 4 Title

To get to the best place to level in the game, you have to get past Mount Ordeal 3.  I did a little searching around and found this page on the NIS America forum.  It really helped me develop my strategy.  My main damage dealer was a Mage using Omega Star instead of Desco.  Unless your level is in the 2000-3000s, I think you will have to clear the board this way.  Below is a video of how to clear it.  I used a slightly different more time consuming approach.

I said it earlier, Mount Ordeal 4 is the best place to level.  Once you get here, you will probably do all of you leveling here.  If you want to get ridiculous amounts of experience, get to Mount Ordeal 4.

Did Solyndra hurt solar development in the US?

    Solyndra Logo

You may have heard this by now, but Solyndra filed for Chapter 11.  Yes, that is bankruptcy.  When I heard about this government backed company, I thought okay we are going down the right path.  We are now investing in companies making solar solutions.  My optimism came crashing down when I heard the Chapter 11 news.  This is more ammunition for fossil fuel enthusiasts.  The truth is our infrastructure for fossil fuels are very safe and stable.  We have invested tons of money and decades making it safe.  Clean energy has a lot overcome to be the primary provide in the States.

I would say yes, Solundra did hurt the industry.  Below is a quote from an article on Rueters. [Full Article]

“A big part of what we’re trying to do is correcting the record,” said Rhone Resch, president of solar trade group the Solar Energy Industries Association, said in an interview. “You can’t judge an industry by the bankruptcy of one company.”

There you have it.  We are in damage control mode right now.  This is straight from the SEIA.  Hopefully one day our landscape can be look like the picture below, clean and renewable.

Does Android have a Malware problem?

    android

I have heard that a couple of times.  I found those rumors not to be true.  I decided to write about this after coming across a thread on reddit located here.  Below is a comment on the topic that I totally agree on.

I install a lot of random apps, I always look at the permissions, and if it looks sketch I don’t install it. I’ve never run into an app on any malware list, but I’m sure it happens to some. Never saw it as an issue though. Know your phone, and look twice at permissions. If something looks suspicious, chances are it is.

The key is to be informed and check permissions before you install.  Yes, there are tons of apps that do malicious things on your device if you install them.  Be smart about what you install.  The Android marketplace can and will have those apps.  When you go to the grocery store do you throw items in the cart without checking them out?  No… don’t do it on the marketplace either.
